As always, excellent show! One thought I had while listening today was about Neelix when you were discussing that women are expected to be nurturing and tend to other’s feelings. To me yet another reason why I absolutely love Voyager, the morale officer is male and the person in charge of organizing birthdays and decorating and taking care of others. At the same time, maybe that personality trait that would challenge society’s old boring expectations, is the reason Neelix was not so popular with some.
